Buttercream Relief

This was ordered as dessert for a final class called "Healing Through Awareness". The side side of the cake says "Happiness is Freedom, Freedom is Love".

I then took the idea and made a practice cake with it for work. Turned out pretty good.

I took a class on buttercream relief and this was the outcome. This is all icing!

Just a few cakes...

Another cake ordered by Ann, this was to celebrate mothers day for her mom and her boyfriend's mom. Iced in buttercream with fondant flowers and leaves.
A continued customer and a grat friend...Ann ordered this for her moms birthday last year. Cake was iced in buttercream with fondant daisies and leaves.

Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. The cake is covered in chocolate buttercream and piroette cookies and topped of with a fondant bow. This was as close as I could get for a male cake with a bow.

I am now trying to play catch up with posting cakes I made before I started this blog. I made this cake for our 4th of July party we had at work, as always a great place to try new recipes and designs.

This is a triple chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling. The cake has wood slat sides made form dark chocolate and a dark chocolate wine bottle. The label is made from a sugar sheet. This was made to celebrate a co-workers 25 year anniversary with our company. He is an avid wine lover.

Happy 4th to Bella

Bella turned 4 this year and celebrated with a Madagascar themed ice cream cake. Chocolate Cake w/ Vanilla ice cream. The "4" , tree and "Bella" are chocolate. The animals, leaves and flowers are fondant. The cake is iced in green buttercream and detailed with the grass tip. I was able to deliver this to the birthday girl and it was so exciting to see that she recognized who the animals were (from the "You got to move it, move it movie"). That was exciting as I was having a hard time creating these characters...but with some help from my friends Sarah and Dawn, the cake came to life.
